The Changing Face of Science: Ylanda Wilhite

About the Project

The Changing Face of Science: Ylanda Wilhite

For this exhibition, I developed media elements that highlighted Ylanda Wilhite’s personal story and connection to science. The installation featured a large-scale video projection of Ylanda kayaking with her father on the Cal-Sag River—an intimate portrayal of how her family experiences nature together. Complementing the visual narrative, I recorded audio of Ylanda’s mother reading a cherished Flintstones storybook once gifted by Ylanda’s grandmother.

By weaving together family, memory, and place, the media design created a multi-sensory portrait of Ylanda, allowing visitors to experience her journey not just through text or imagery, but through the sounds and sights that shaped her upbringing.
