After the Age of Dinosaurs: DNA Interactive

About the Project

After the Age of Dinosaurs: DNA Interactive

How do you make the abstract world of DNA engaging for a general audience—especially in the context of the mass extinction that ended the age of dinosaurs? The exhibition team wanted an installation that could translate a highly complex scientific concept into something tactile, visual, and memorable for museum visitors of all ages.

I collaborated with motion designer Warren Rudd to design a large-scale interactive experience. My role focused on concept development and multimedia production, ensuring the installation blended scientific accuracy with creative storytelling. Warren translated our ideas into nine dynamic animations, each brought to life with vivid motion design. We integrated touch sensors that allowed visitors to trigger these animations directly, creating a hands-on way to explore how DNA research links us back to prehistoric life.

The final installation transformed a dense scientific subject into an immersive learning experience. Visitors were able to interact with the content intuitively, uncovering connections between ancient ecosystems and modern science through touch and motion. The result was an exhibit that not only educated but also sparked curiosity—making DNA’s role in our evolutionary story accessible, engaging, and unforgettable.
