The exhibition combined two core elements:
Live reptiles representing diverse habitats, including desert, tropical, forest, and coastal ecosystems.
Object theater, an original light show I produced using fossil specimens from the Field Museum’s herpetology collections.
I developed a layered experience of theatrical lighting, projected animations, and narrated storytelling. These elements worked together to illuminate the evolutionary histories and unique adaptations of reptiles across deep time. The juxtaposition of living animals with fossil storytelling created a dynamic dialogue between past and present, science and art. Visitors encountered reptiles not only as biological organisms but also as part of a broader evolutionary narrative—experiencing them as both living creatures and ancient survivors.
