About this Project

Amerika Samoa: A Day in the Life

To support The Field Museum's Amerika Samoa exhibition, I traveled to American Samoa to produce and edit a short documentary that offers visitors an authentic glimpse into daily life on the island. The film was created to celebrate the culture, traditions, and artistic practices of the Samoan people through a contemporary lens. Working in collaboration with local filmmaker Gabby Fa'ai'uaso of Fale Film, we captured footage across the island, documenting cultural ceremonies, traditional foods, community gatherings, and everyday experiences. Through observational storytelling and cinematic imagery, the documentary highlights the deep connections between people, place, and cultural heritage.

Featured within The Field Museum's Amerika Samoa exhibition, the film provides visitors with an immersive introduction to island life while amplifying local perspectives. The project demonstrates the power of collaborative filmmaking to bridge geographic distances and create meaningful cultural connections for museum audiences.
