First Kings of Europe Soundscapes & Sound Design

First Kings of Europe Exhibition — Soundscape Design
Collaboration with Composer Justin Peterson and Ryan Grostefon

For the First Kings of Europe exhibition, I collaborated with composer Justin Peterson and sound designer Ryan Grostefon to bring ancient worlds to life through immersive audio design.

Our team developed two soundscapes for the Neolithic and Iron Age sections, blending original composition with environmental textures to create an evocative atmosphere that complemented the artifacts on display. In addition, we crafted targeted sound effects for transitional spaces—highlighting the Copper Age and Bronze Age—and designed an impactful funeral pyre installation, where sound played a central role in shaping visitors’ emotional experience.

This project combined historical research, creative collaboration, and technical sound design, resulting in an audio environment that deepened audience engagement with the exhibition’s narrative.
